Angelo`s Restaurant in Lyndhurst

Average Italian restaurant. Service was good and food was fine. Seemed like there were a lot of regulars there based on the staffs interaction with people so I assume it is consistent and a local favorite place.

Delicious broccoli rabe, meatballs, and tiramisu.

I simply enjoyed their food. I always get good customer service there. The place is always clean and the cashiers are always very welcoming. Will visit here again.

The food is always delicious and consistent. You must try their famous manicotti. One of my favorites is the shrimp and biscuit. You can order it as an appetizer or entree and select the spiciness of your sauce. There is a bar which makes the best drinks around. They do NOT take reservations, but the longest we've ever waited was 20 mins.

As previously discussed, the best Italian cuisine around...forgot to mention kudos for the entire staff on hand...the best

We went to Angelo's for the first time the other day. We ordered food to take out. While we waited, we were treated hospitably and with the utmost respect. We ordered Rigatoni with ricotta, linguini in white clam sauce, chicken parmesean and meatballs. The food was out of this world. From the ricotta to the clam sauce, everything was fresh and home made. Their Italian bread is the best. I haven't had Italian bread like theirs in a long time. We will definitely be ordering from Angelo's again.

I have to give it 5 stars, based on its Old Style Down Neck Italian. Locally, this is the only one I know of. 90% of the Old Italian places are long gone from where I grew up. This brings back memories of the 60's and even the decor has probably been from way back then. We've been going there for 20 years, always a good meal. if your expecting fancy? Skip it, but if you like a gravy that reminds me of my best friends (Italian) mother from the 60's this is thee place.

Old world style good food fair price

I celebrated my birthday last night in this fine place. I am glad to say that we had a tremendous evening and the place was indeed one of the reasons for that strong meeting. The crew cooperated in a lovely style, the cooking was very good and my friends were very glad. We shall surely come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Found this place after a Jets game, I'm surprised they let us in with Jerseys on as the place is very nice and has an old school atmosphere. Just went back a year later. The food is GOOD, not GREAT. The menu is small and simple. Fair priced, but the portions are small. I just wish the wait staff would explain that emtrees don't come with pasta, or better yet, just raise the prices and plate accordingly. Phenomenal tiramisu.

The best Italian-American food I have ever eaten. Excellent service from staff some of who have been there for decades. Wonderful old style bar which you don't see very often. They have a loyal customer following.

Took my daughter here for her birthday because of the good reviews but was so disappointed at the treatment we received at the door. We are Guyanese Americans and the lady at the door was so unfriendly and we can clearly see we were not welcomed there. She bluntly told us there was no room maybe because of our looks. When asked how long was the wait she said oh it will be over an hour and she suggested to us that it will be too long and we should maybe find another place. We went to Roma restaurant in North Arlington and was treated with 5 stars. We will never recommend this place and sadly prejudice still exists because of your skin color!

Angelo's was terrific parking was a bit difficult I had to park down the street and it was very confusing where you were able to park the restaurant itself, was very nice very dark very old Italian if you will which I love the food very good I also had that old Italian feel I had chicken parmesan, and it was very very delicious not like your run-of-the-mill fast food chicken parm this was real chicken parm. I recommend this place to anyone it looks like it has already got a very usual clientele that comes in but go ahead and enjoy No Reservations needed.

My family has loved terrific this place for generations! My grandparents introduced us to their friend Angelo, and it has been where we celebrate friends and family ever since. Terrific and consistent food, hostesses, wonderful wait staff, and bartenders. I'm glad Diane kept it going when her dad passed.

Always a consistent dishes, my family has been going to Angelo's for 3 generations. Most if the dishes are from Angelo's mom which I had the pleasure to meet when I was young. Angela always made my mom and dad feel special.Every dish on the menu is cooked water an excellent. For an appetizer they're all great but I would recommend his mother's homemade monigotta, entrees Angelo scampi shrimp marinara old if you'll dishes great place I'm so happy that Angelo's daughter is continuing the tradition

Angelo's is one of my faves. The ambiance, personality and quality can always be counted on. If you have been dining here for years...then you'll understand. It's a mainstay in experiencing Lyndhurst at its Finest.

Food and service was very good. This should have been asked for 3 years ago while it was fresh in my memory.

The food was awful. We were perplexed at the fact it was so crowded because the food was not good at all. There is no way this restaurant can be owned by Italians. It's impossible.

I go here with my fiancee and her family every few months. Angelo's is an authentic classical Italian restaurant, and they have amazing pasta and sauce. Great for a date, a nice dinner with friends/family, or take-out.

The food here is as close to home cooking as it gets. The meatballs and sausage taste so much like my mother's cooking it's amazing. The environment is warm and welcoming and the food outstanding. If your looking to have a good old fashioned italian home cooked meal, this is where you need to go. Highly recommend eating here.

Seems to be hit or miss these days. Was disappointed this last time. Out of everything, I must say the spaghetti with garlic and oil was outstanding. That always seems to be a hit!

I'm sorry to have to write this review, however, the previous remarks seem to be somewhat embellished based upon on our experience. With so many other comparable options to chose from, this restaurant, as to it's food quality, is not a standout. On another note, a friendlier and more welcoming management would have been a plus as well.. Unfortunately, the days of resting on old laurels with little to no effort is an attitude of the past, and a new customer should be as important as the "regulars". Underhanded comments by management critiquing the customers that they are unfamiliar with is unacceptable, especially when verbalized so vocally that every patron can hear.

Unfortunately we went there on an extremely busy night. They don't take reservations. It was worth the hour wait. The bar tender helped pass the time and the drinks were generous. The food was great, the sauces were rich with ingredients and flavors. Truly, a throw back to what an Italian restaurant use to be like. Clearly not what you'd get from a nation chain wantabe. Go there to see what an Italian restaurant should be.

This restaurant serves the absolute best examples of this type of cuisine. Excellent 70s decor and fabulous bar.

I have gone here for special occasions with many many times for over 20 years with my family and it has the best sauce. If we have any left over we literally take it home...... Sooooo gooddd.However there is a new owner now and I I just came in with a new fancier pair of shoes, dress shorts, and a dressier no sleeve shirt and the owner immediately declined my entry and kicked me out. Meanwhile there were 3 other people seated right in front of us with tank tops, giants jerseys, and sloppily dressed. This is super upsetting as I really loved this place :/.

Great old school italian restaurant. It can get pretty crowded, leaving not much space between tables, but the food makes up for it. Meatballs are great!
